Please bear in mind that this is one and the same location where Occupiers faced down OPD(backed by 14 other "law enforcement agencies) in full riot gear, with tear gas and rubber bullets. Imam Zaid stood and delivered this address.
One non-muslim sister (who heard Imam El_Hajj Malik Shabazz) commented; "he sounded like Malcolm". Were any of us who knows him (i.e. Imam Zaid) have said that, the implications would be clear. But for a non-muslim who heard Malcolm to say it, makes this (for us) the highest compliment payable to a leader and a scholar of our time. May Allah ta ala continue to bless the Bay with Imam Zaid, ameen.
